this kind of belt buckle is used by dripping hot wax and guiding the wax with a hot knife, a very exact process since the drop can be dripped and modelled only at the right temperature

the modelling wax used by marcela is a mix of bee's wax, paraffin and natural resin, which gives it the ideal texture and give so that when warm, can be stretched out to form different structures. It is able to capture fine detail and can even pick up fingerprints which are then translated into metal.
