4. Casting.

The molten bronze, which is heated in a crucible to a temperature of 2100ºF, is poured through the funnel and into the mold where it solidifies within minutes but is allowed to cool overnight.

5.Breakout.

The outer core is carefully broken off with a hammer and chisel, thus the term "original wax casting" (the mold is destroyed), and the gates and feeders are cut off. The bronze is then sandblasted to get rid of any remaining material.
